The Master of Design (M.Des.) program at the School of Fashion Technology (SOFT), Pune, is a Design specialized postgraduate degree program. Aimed at offering a panoramic and higher education concerning multiple Design disciplines, the M. Eligibility (Affiliated to S.N.D.T Women's University, Mumbai)

  • Bachelor of Design (4 years) Degree Course from any  UGC recognized University   or equivalent specialized in Fashion Design, Fashion Communication, Textile Design, Jewellery Design, Graphic Design etc
  • B.sc/B.A/BFA Degree Course from any  UGC recognized University   or equivalent specialized in Fashion Design, Fashion Communication, Textile Design, Jewellery Design, Graphic Design etc
    NOTE: For three-year Degree program, the students will have to do a bridge course of 8 credits in their first year (4 credits each Sem I and Sem II)
  • B. Design from NIFT/NID or equivalent.
  • For eligibility to appear in the Entrance Examination, a student must obtain at least
    50% marks in the qualifying examination.

  • Merit with minimum 50%
  • Intake- 30
  • Personal Interview+ Portfolio +Statement of Purpose (at SOFT, Pune)

10th ,11th, 12th, January 2020 (Date to be chosen by student at the time of registration)
(All tests will be conducted on the same day at SOFT Campus only)

Preamble

The Master of Design (M.Des) degree course is aimed to address the ever changing needs and intricacies of the design field. With the rapid advancements in technology, changing societal demands, and emerging trends globally, M. Des program aims to foster a sensitive generation of design leaders, innovators, and researchers who are equipped with advanced knowledge, creative skills, and critical thinking.

Master level program in Design Faculty with Interdisciplinary areas provides experience to diverse expertise with elevated creativity, innovative approaches and well-balanced functionality along with exceptional research aptitude. Combination of research-oriented projects and upgraded knowledge and technical inputs makes the learner to enrich their skills and confidence; inculcating the capacities to enhance the professional portfolio.
