About Alumni

128-year-old Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha has pioneered in “Women Empowerment through Education”. School of Fashion Technology, is one of its initiatives for the last 26 years, caters to creating a responsible workforce by empowering women through fashion education. The empowerment of SOFT students is intentioned greatly through the curriculum, co-curriculum, and extracurricular activities, keeping institutional values and beliefs in mind.

To continue this empowerment of students, MKSSS’s SOFT is initiating its very own “Alumnae Association”. This association is meant to empower the existing young students with knowledge and experience sharing with an active involvement of its alumnae through a wide array of activities. The association further promotes and fosters a win-win situation that mutually benefits and interacts between the Alumnae and SOFT students.

The alumnae association is the foundation of a resilient network between Education and Industry. The association aims to foster a spirit of loyalty, promote the institution to support the parent organization’s goals, and strengthen the ties between alumni, the community, the parent organization, and SOFT.

We at MKSSS’s SOFT believe that the alumnae of the institution are its ambassadors and icons of the institute to inspire and motivate the existing younger generation. The Alumnae’s character, personality, intellect, achievement, success, and recognition add great value to the positioning of SOFT as the alma mater, producing high-quality professionals for the future, fulfilling the Vision and Mission of the institute, complementing the Alumnae Association’s ideation.

We believe that the stronger the network of alumnae, the greater is the impact on the learning of the younger generation. The Association also aids in developing sensitivity and a sense of belonging, which enhances the involvement and attachment of the students towards the institution, having a positive outcome. The aura of having a senior batch alumna returning to the campus to deliver expertise is an exceptional ambiance for teachers and its students.

The Alumnae engagement through association involves guest lectures, mentoring, placements & internships process that provide students a great platform in the curriculum.

Besides alumnae active engagement, the association is designed to provide a strong and a wider network to its Alumnae by offering them opportunities to introduce, support and expand their own skills and knowledge through various activities such as,

  1. Infrastructure and Resource utilization
  2. Showcasing in Design Shows
  3. Exhibits
  4. Green Fashion India activities

  8. Access to the library and Resource Center
  9. Liaison with industry
  10. Start-ups and Entrepreneurship
